i just had the most wonderful reunion dinner with nic ben wv ym alex voon ian rui mich. we had TEPANYAKI! i realized today that the most wonderful invention in the world is the tepanyaki grill; it cooks to perfection! but i am blatantly taking away credit from the crazy marinating by the queens' crew - can u imagine getting ready 5 hours prior to cooking? i feel so inadequate. mostly nic and i only remember to add the seasoning as the meat is already on the grill/in the pan, and a hasty scramble for the kikoman/pepper/teriaki sauce follows suit. such blur fools we are..
i'm still feeling contented in my bubble of happiness even as i sit in my quiet room reminiscing. i'm smiling even as my kitchen reeks of garlic and the floor stays slippery despite the bravest of efforts from ben and i. my teeth are chattering because i had to open my windows to let the smell of leftover japanese style noodles topped with a generous serving of chicken and eggs dissipate. even the fact that we got porter-ed seems down right hilarious now!
